Peccole Ranch is home to 22 separate neighborhoods built by a variety of national and local housing developers. Ten of the neighborhoods are gated communities, designed for those desiring extra privacy and peace. The master plan includes single and multiple family complexes, shopping centers, and office buildings. There are parks, golf courses, and casinos nearby for more enjoyment.
Peccole Village, within Peccole Ranch, consists of two neighborhoods, La Ventana (gated) and Canyon Hills (non gated) with a total of 354 homes ranging in size from 1200 square feet to 2600 square feet. These neighborhoods are located next to the Arbors Tennis and Play Park which has basketball courts, barbecues, picnic tables and walking trails. Residents also have access to the Peccole Ranch Leisure Center which hosts loads of activities and has an Olympic size swimming pool. Also an18 hole disc golf course which meanders through the extensive community walking trails for exclusive use of the residents. In addition there are also private tennis courts and volleyball courts.
The master plan of Peccole Ranch was developed by the Peccole family and constructed from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s, except for the Queensridge area which started construction in the late 1990s. It was named after William “Bill” Peccole, who acquired the land in 1949, swapping 15,000 acres in Northern Nevada for 3,000 acres in Las Vegas. Even then Peccole had a vision for the land, which he saw come true before his death in 1999. When he purchased the land, it was so far beyond the city limits, it was suggested that the Peccole family not pay taxes on it!
“He commented 40 years ago that he envisioned golf courses and casinos out there, and people thought he was crazy,” said attorney and longtime friend Bill Phillips in a Dec. 16, 1999, Las Vegas Review-Journal article. “But he lived to see that he was right and they were wrong.”
Peccole Ranch is particularly noted for the wealth of amenities it offers residents: from first class schools to parks to shopping to gourmet restaurants and first class medical facilities. The renowned Piggott Elementary School is conveniently located adjacent to the Peccole Ranch club house, offers an excellent curriculum making the Peccole Ranch community especially popular with families of school age children.
